The Lady in Black the new show with songs from 1910 -1950 in a much more serious vein.

No dirty songs, just songs from the heart as Rev. Mary and her all boy band tell the story of her journey to herself.

Rev. Mary unmasked and singing her heart out.

You really don’t want to miss it.

Starting up in 2017 at the West End Lounge in Upper Manhattan, Reverend Mary’s Blues Jam, a lively, interactive event, gained success and momentum. The show is now branching out to Brooklyn, at Freddy’s Bar & Backroom, 627 5th Ave, in Park Slope, Brooklyn, New York, on Saturday, May 5 at 11:00 PM.

Born and bred Brooklyn native Mary Elizabeth Micari, in the guise of her bluesy alter-ego, Rev. Mary Whitebush, spouts racy rhymes and sings titillating tunes featuring the Rev.’s choir of bodacious burlesque babes. Rev. Mary and her all-boy band are Dan Furman on piano, A.C. Weingarten on drums, and Mario Claudio with back-up vocals. The Rev. Mary serenades  the crowds with a litany of saucy songs with suggestive lyrics written in a time when the double entendre was the only way to get a point across. She also introduces guest burlesque artists and welcomes musicians and singers up on stage to add to the fun.

In the months since its inception, the Blues Jam has presented numbers provided by guest artists, including guitarist Alan Lighty (now a Jam regular with an album coming out shortly); Ron Zoni on ukulele and drums; and singers, bluesman George Dixon (another Jam regular); cabaret cut-up Emmy Pai; rocker Jen Bush; and many others.
